Bottled water tastes SO much  better than tap. It’s cleaner, comes from mountains (aka the heavens) and is bottled up by major manufactures (such as Coca-cola, Fiji and many others – even supermarket brands) delivered to you, tasting better than water you can find anywhere else. Right?

Wrong.  (If you believe any of what I just wrote, you may question your intelligence want to re-read our blog title.)  Although I’ve discussed the ‘secrets’ of bottled water previously, activist Annie Leonard narrated the myths of this industry in this interesting & entertaining video:

It was a gorgeous day for Philly’s 3rd annual Greenfest ’08. There was fun live music, great food and an impressive showing from local vendors & organizations.

Top Reasons to Refuse Bottled Water

Glancing down a grocery aisle, bottled water looks so tempting. The beautiful graphics of green trees, exotic water from Fiji or France… it looks so healthy. It’s easy to be duped by this misleading advertising.

Growing up the Philly suburbs, I never bought water. Luckily, our tap was clean and my Dad didn’t get the point in buying a typically free product. (Who knew Dad’s crazy protest was actually helping the environment? )

The bottled water industry is an environmental termite. When you’re drinking a bottle of water, you’re consuming approximately 1/2 of that bottle in oil – talk about hurting your Carbon Footprint!
